Effective date: 9 October 2026.
BoardWay:Board Games ("the app") teaches Xiangqi, Chess, Go and Caro. This policy explains what data the app handles. The app has no user accounts and does not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
1. Data that stays on your device
Your learning progress (lessons, puzzles, games, ratings, badges, streak, settings) is stored only on your device. It is not sent to us. Uninstalling the app deletes it. If Android backup is enabled on your device, Android may include it in your own Google backup.
2. Data handled by third-party services
- Google AdMob shows ads. It may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and ad interaction data, to show and measure ads. Where the law requires consent (for example in the EEA and UK) the app asks for it first using Google's User Messaging Platform, and you can change your choice at any time from Profile → Privacy options.
- Firebase Analytics receives anonymous usage events (for example "lesson completed", "game ended") and device information, so we can improve the app. It uses an app instance ID, not your identity.
- Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports and error reports (device model, OS version, app state at the time of the error) so we can fix problems.
- Firebase Remote Config downloads settings such as ad frequency.
- Google Play processes the optional "Remove ads" purchase. We never see your payment details; we only learn whether the purchase was made.
These services are operated by Google under their own policies: policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from partner apps.
3. Engine downloads
Game engines' data files are downloaded from Google Play when you choose a game. No personal data is sent beyond what Google Play needs to deliver them.
4. Children
The app is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed at children.
5. Your choices
- Change ad consent: Profile → Privacy options (shown where consent applies).
- Reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings.
- Remove all local data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it.
6. Changes and contact
We will update this page if the app's data practices change. Questions: [email protected].
